Following an enquiry for HVM equipment from Edinburgh City Council, ARX Security put forward a proposal for ARX Stopper!TM, initially to be used around Murrayfield Stadium for rugby international matches, starting with the Autumn International Series in 2022.
Working in conjunction with the council and the Scottish Rugby Union, the ARX Stopper!TM system was to be part of a wider plan of HVM measures being tendered by other manufacturers and installers, including Crowdguard, who later became one of our specialist distributors/installers.

Working in conjunction with the council and the Scottish Rugby Union, the ARX Stopper!TM system was to be part of a wider plan of HVM measures being tendered by other manufacturers and installers, including Crowdguard, who later became one of our specialist distributors/installers.
As a result of proposals and planning presentations, ARX Stopper!TM was approved as part of the
Edinburgh/Murrayfield plan for HVM. The ARX Stopper!TM system was selected for two key locations, within an outer perimeter cordon around the stadium, allowing high levels of pedestrian throughflow at both ingress and egress.
Multiple units were deployed in a double row, PAS68/IWA14-1 configuration at the first location, where two major pedestrian routes converged, pre-match. All units were then moved during the match to the second location, with the addition of extra units to block the main A8, to protect crowd egress after the match.
ARX Security provided on-site installer training for council staff and SRU contractors, during the first deployments, with all equipment being installed, moved, and re-installed well within the specified time limits.
Following an HVM review after the first match in the series, a requirement for extra pedestrian access was identified at another pre-match location. The flexibility of the ARX Stopper!TM system enabled this second pre-match deployment to be added, and improved pedestrian access was achieved.
Eventually, Crowdguard took on the ARX Stopper!TM deployments, again with installation training provided by ARX Security.
ARX Stoppers!TM are now in regular use at multiple events and all international rugby matches at Murrayfield Stadium, including the Six Nations Championship.
